Accounting is my second career. (CPAs make more money than English teachers.) I’ve been an auditor, a management accountant, and now a tax accountant. What I have learned as a tax accountant is that preparing a tax return is just the beginning of understanding a client’s financial challenges and opportunities. It is the door through which I can have a positive impact on so many other aspects of people’s lives, such as saving, investing, estate planning, insurance, social security, Medicare, and, of course, peace of mind and happiness.

While still attending university in California, I quickly realized tax accounting versus financial accounting was where my career was heading. My experience took me from an entry level tax preparer earning my CPA license, to Associate Tax Director in a publicly traded company and back to public accounting as part owner of our CPA firm. Through all these experiences, meeting new people from varied backgrounds and assisting them with their tax needs is where I thrive. Filing tax returns is just one prong of being a tax accountant. Ensuring you do not pay more than your fair share of tax and taking advantage of tax strategies is what we excel at.

I’m an accountant at the firm dedicated to providing reliable accounting and tax services since 2019. I enjoy reading financial statements like a story that explains how a business operates and where it’s headed, helping small business owners understand their numbers and make informed decisions. I’m actively learning tax preparation and compliance so I can better support with well-rounded financial insight.

Accounting, for me, is very similar to a puzzle! You just have to find the missing pieces and then piece them all together to form a clear financial picture of a company. My favorite part of accounting is taking broken financial books and repairing them to make life easier and less stressful for our clients. I take great pride and experience tremendous joy in streamlining our clients’ financial books, making it easy for them to extract financial details that enable informed decisions based on accurate and timely information.
